Studio Policies

In order to facilitate the best possible learning environment for all students, the following guidelines are to be observed and followed:

Term of Study

The complete term of study for the 2024-2025 Session consists of two (2) 15 week semesters as detailed on the schedule appearing later in this document.

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for individual and class progress. Make-up classes are available for classes missed, provided that you call the Studio prior to the time of the missed class. All missed classes must be made-up during the semester in which they occur and there are no private make-up classes. Tuition will not be refunded or prorated for missed or dropped classes. Classes

missed due to medical reasons will be approved for credit upon concurrent receipt of an originally signed advice from the student’s physician. More than 3 consecutive “unexcused” absences in one semester is cause for dismissal from that class without a refund.

Inclement Weather

Classes canceled due to inclement weather will be announced on WTMJ TV Snow closings, the Studio website, the Studio Facebook page and by general e-mail notifications.

Parent Visiting Week

Classes will be open to parents to view the final class of the Fall Semester. A detailed Visiting Day schedule will be posted on the Studio Website as we approach the end of the Fall Semester.

General Information

  • Students are to address the instructors as “Miss” followed by their first names
  • There is NO gum chewing in class
  • Students are to be dressed as described in the 2024-2025 Dress Code that is included later in this document
  • Hair must be pulled up away from the face and neck. Ballet students must wear their hair in a bun. DiscoverDance 1 and DiscoverDance 2 students should keep hair neatly pulled away from the face
  • Disruptive behavior will result in dismissal with no refund for the remaining classes
  • Students arriving more than 10 minutes late to class may be asked to observe only

Studio Website, Closed Facebook and Instagram Pages

The Nancy Dianne Studio of Dance, Ltd. maintains a Website, Closed Facebook and Instagram pages. We routinely use these sites in order to communicate with parents and students as well as

share interesting and relevant stories and news about the Studio, events sponsored by or involving official Studio participation, students, staff and alumni. As part of those sorts of

communications, the featured topic may include pictures of the event including images of participant students. It is the Studio’s policy that at no time will we use a student image in any open social media site or other commercial purposes. Further, no person or organization not affiliated with the Studio may use, copy, alter or modify any photograph for any reason without the express advance written consent of the Studio and the parent(s) involved. If you have any concerns or if you wish to be exempted from this activity, please contact the Studio Director

We encourage you to join the Studio’s Closed Facebook and Instagram pages as we use this to post periodic notices and Studio news throughout the year. The Studio’s Closed Facebook group

is administered internally by Miss Holly (Heard). If you are interested in becoming a part of the Studio’s Closed Facebook group, you may do so by just clicking the Join button on the Studio

Facebook page.

Spring Dance Program

It is our belief that performing is a very important part of the students’ formal dance training. Each spring at the conclusion of the second semester, the Studio presents a program in which the

students have the opportunity to participate. On alternating years, we hold a full Dance Concert and the following spring it is the “Lights & Tights” Program. The Dance Concert is a costumed production with a planned theme and scenery, whereas the “Lights & Tights” Program is not a fully costumed production, nor does it have a planned theme or scenery. In this program students generally perform in their regular classroom attire. Each program is held at the Sussex Hamilton

Fine Arts Center and is open for the public to view. This year’s performances will be a Dance Concert.

Class Placement

The Studio offers a graded system of study to satisfy all skill levels. Continuing students are evaluated each year and based on acquired knowledge and skill, then progress through a graduated system of study. Placement is at the sole discretion of the instructor. New students must also be evaluated to determine their appropriate level of class placement. Classes meet once a week, therefore choose one class time per discipline.

Tuition Information

Tuition is payable before the semester begins. Should we find it necessary to send additional monthly statements for unpaid tuition amounts, late payment fees of $10.00 will be added on each statement cycle.

Payment may be addressed and mailed to:

Nancy Dianne Studio of Dance, Ltd.

P.O. Box 171

Menomonee Falls, WI 53051.

As has been the case in the past, a 10% discount on tuition will be given to families with two or more children enrolled. We encourage payment being made by mail to the Studio at the address appearing above and on the Registration Form. Tuition is non-refundable except in the event of a serious illness or injury. Requests for a refund must be made in writing to the Studio Director and an originally signed doctor’s certificate of inability to continue class must accompany the request. Credits or refunds are not granted for any other reason.

Ballet Class Punch Cards

Students who are enrolled in the Intermediate/Advanced and Intensive Ballet/Pointe classes are encouraged to take more than one class per week. Taking additional classes helps the Ballet student achieve greater flexibility and strength as well as develop clean and solid technique skills. These additional classes are available for purchase by a Class Punch Card at a substantially discounted rate (Variations Classes are not Punch Card eligible). Refunds will not be given for unused classes and cards expire at the end of the 2025 Spring Semester.
